KLAE PLT is KLAE Group's training, investment, and asset management arm — delivering industrial certification programmes (via its IECEx CoPC and multi-purpose training centres) while managing Group resources for long-term value, and additionally founding the Surge Protection Community as an industry knowledge hub on lightning/earthing/overvoltage protection.

Company Overview
KLAE PLT is the Training, Investment and Asset Management Arm of the KL Automation Engineering Group of Companies. While our identity spans all three, our work is centred on one thing: developing competent, certified professionals for hazardous-area and technical industries.
We deliver industry-relevant courses and certification programmes — including IECEx CoPC certification and Solar PV Design with PVsyst — that upskill engineers, technicians and professionals in line with current standards and regulatory requirements. Every course is built around practical application, safety and real competency, delivered from two dedicated training centres equipped with Ex-certified tools and hands-on test equipment.
Alongside this, the Group runs a focused investment strategy — one that grows our team, strengthens our expertise, and lets us move into new areas. All of our training centres and offices are properties we own and invest in for our own use, not for external property trading.
KLAE PLT is also the proud founder and host of the Surge Protection Community — a technical bridge for engineers and technicians to discuss lightning protection and earthing systems, transient overvoltage protection, and best practices in industrial electrical resilience.

Ts. Dr. Kuan Teik Hua is a Professional Technologist and founder of the KLAE Group, with over 38 years of industry experience in explosion protection (Ex) technologies, intrinsic safety and surge protection. Holding a Ph.D. in Engineering specialising in lightning and surge protection for hazardous areas, he has extensive regional exposure across Asia Pacific, the UK and Germany.
With a strong background in both industry and academia, he is a certified trainer (PSMB / HRD Corp) and actively serves as a tutor, lecturer and supervisor at Wawasan Open University and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman. His expertise spans technical training, system design and competency development — making him a key figure in delivering professional training programs, particularly in hazardous-area safety and IECEx-related competencies.
